And the beat goes on...
So we're approaching four months of "dating" Biker Boy. I know, I can't believe it either. Last weekend we went up north for a race he did in Calumet, Michigan.
You may be asking - What is in Calumet, Vodka? A whole lot of nothing. It's about 10 miles from Houghton Michigan, and you could tell in it's brighter days it was a booming town. Now it's filled with abandoned buildings mixed in with a flower, gift and coffee shop. Even a little cafe.
BB and his friend Scott from Wisconsin signed up for the 25 mile race. So I got to wander for three hours. The place cracked me up. There was a police escort for the bikers, and after that we had a parade!
It had a marching band, heavy machinery AND a trailer of rocks!

After the parade I wandered around the town. I went into this cute shop that had barrels of taffy. So I grabbed a bucket and put a few in here and there including some hard candies. It's $8 per lb. and because the weight was distributed out I figured i had a pound of candy. Boy was I wrong - I bought over 3 lbs. of candy! $24 later i'm still eating the chewy confection, even after taking most of it to work.
The rest of the weekend went fairly well considering we spent alot of it in the car driving up and back from the u.p. I got a little frustrated with him from time to time. As i'm sure he got frustrated with me as well. We stopped at a few waterfalls on the way back to Grand Rapids, and we have an official picture of us. I look like crap as usual. I don't think i've posted a picture of me on this site yet. So here we go:
Still no divorce yet. My end date is Sept. 1 for him and he's working on the paperwork at this point. As long as he has the document signed I'll at least know he wants to move on. It's a matter of if his wife wants to sign the documents.
He's canceled all of his bike races for September so he can train for his marathon in October and focus on what he needs to do at home. Let's see how this turns out.
